Learning off the Grid

A study of informal and alternative education in Mumbai

Learning off the Grid is a research project founded by Annie Kurtin and Ravi Raj, both recent graduates of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP). It is a study of alternative and informal education programs based primarily in Mumbai, India. In January 2011 both Annie and Ravi traveled to India on a fellowship to conduct research and host a series of programs highlighting the work of NGOs in the education sector and questioning the role of the architect in education design and curricula development.
